Museum coordinator
We are seeking a Museum Coordinator to help plan, promote, and implement our community programs, events and guided tours. The ideal candidate would have experience with kids, a passion for community and education, and someone who has great communication skills. collections technician
We are seeking a museum collections technician for a 15-week contract during the summer of 2025 in Terrace. The focus of this role is to enhance the digitization, organization, and display of our collections. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for historical preservation, community history, and will have experience working with technology. community relations director
The Community Relations Director position is dedicated to continuing meaningful relationships with Indigenous and other community groups. In this role, they will facilitate meetings with other organizations, seek out events and programs to support, help the curator develop a community engagement committee, and work on a new program that involves collaboration with other organizations. The ideal candidate for this position would have a passion for community engagement, great organizational skills, an understanding of the community, and good communication skills. The position begins June 24, 2025 and ends on August 30, 2025. The deadline to apply is May 22, 2025.
Youth programmer
The Heritage Park Museum Youth Programmer is responsible for planning and implementing two free, youth summer camps, assisting with children's and family programs, and contributing to our Canada Day event. Assistant curator intern
The Terrace and District Museum Society is seeking an Assistant Curator Intern for a thirty-week position starting on May 26 (flexible) at Heritage Park Museum in Terrace, British Columbia. They will work alongside the Curator on projects such as developing interactive and written exhibit elements, re-organizing exhibits and storage spaces, assisting with summer programs, helping facilitate a conference, and organizing and putting on seasonal events at the museum. This position will involve handling both our artifact and archives collection, conducting historical research, organizing the collections, and digitizing the collections to improve the accessibility and functionality of our collections database system. The wage is $24.00 an hour.
The ideal candidate will be a creative individual who is passionate about public access to history, is confident in leading projects, and is, preferably, experienced in using cultural database systems (training is also provided). To be considered eligible, candidates must be recent University or College graduates and fit all eligibility requirements of the Young Canada Works - Building Careers in Heritage program. We are especially interested in graduates of programs related to history, museum/ archival studies, education, First Nations studies, cultural resource management, and similar fields of study. Candidates with demonstrated experience working in a museum, art gallery, or similar cultural education setting will be prioritized -but we encourage all interested and eligible graduates to apply!
