Tom Conroy Cabin
This homestead is set-up as a pioneer home. This cabin is meant to show what home- life was like for early settlers and how this settlement effected Indigenous communities.
Linesman Cabin
This cabin features telegraph equipment and taxidermy. The cabin displays what the job of being a linesman would entail and how it changed the province.
Trappers Cabin
This cabin is the smallest and features drying boards, traps, and a small wood stove. Looking inside, visitors can empathize with the lonely life of a trapper.
School House
This cabin is a small-scale replica of an old school house. We also discuss the recent history of Residential Schools in the area at this stop of our guided tour.
Wagon Shed
Under the wagon shed, many types of transportation are featured. This includes: wagons, trucks, sternwheelers, and sleighs.
Dix's Dance Hall
This big, open building originally accompanied the hotel. Visitors can imagine wealthy business-men travelling far and wide to dance in this hall.
Kalum Lake Hotel
Believe it or not, this building used to be a hotel. With only four bedrooms, it looks a lot different from modern accommodations. Visitors here will learn about early visitors to the region and what brought them here. This building also features our gift shop.
Hampton Barn
This barn holds our agricultural collection. Here visitors can learn about the evolution on modern day farming. By observing the hand-seeders, scythes, and flails, one can imagine how far we have come. Another observation within this cabin is how was the land being used before farmers and settlers arrived?
Bruce Johnstone Cabin
This cabin originally belonged to the Lakelse Hot Springs Resort by Bruce Johnstone. It now holds our logging collection. Visitors can learn about the trials and tribulations the Terrace lumber industry faced and the impractical tools that were used.
TEMPORARY
Carving House
This building occasionally features an Indigenous artist at work.
