The Red Cross Hospital on Little Avenue (just behind the arena) in the 1950s. Terrace's first civilian hospital operated in converted World War II buildings from 1948 until 1961. The original ten beds were doubled to twenty beds in the early 1950s, but the growing regional population quickly overtaxed the small outpost hospital, necessitating the larger, purpose-built Terrace and District Hospital (now Mills Memorial Hospital). Postcard from Heritage Park Museum's Collection.
