Kevin Murphy Plant Protection (Floating Row Cover) 12:00 to 1:00pm July 15th

Kevin Murphy from Remo Harvest will talk about plant protection, or floating row cover. He will share how floating row cover has changed the way they farm in Old Remo. The stuff is amazing: it addresses some wind, bugs and moisture conservation all at the same time. This also would be easy for people to use in home gardens, which makes it worth talking about. Part of the Gardens and Green Spaces lecture series. Free and open to everyone.

Kevin Murphy is a 39-year-old first-generation farmer born in Terrace. His wife, Mandy Murphy, is a fourth generation farmer from southern Ontario, and they have two kids under the age of four. Their farm, Remo Harvest, became BC-certified organic in 2016. Their cash crop is vegetables, but they dedicate much much of their time  to homesteading so their family can enjoy foods produced with integrity such as honey, yogurt, cheese, berries, hay and foraged mushrooms, as well as vegetables from the garden.
