Museum Technician

$20.00/hour | 37.5 hours/week | 15 weeks | position subject to funding

We are seeking a museum technician for a 15-week contract during the summer of 2024 in Terrace, British Columbia. The focus of this role is to enhance the digitization, organization, and display of our collections. The ideal candidate for this role would have experience with research, would be able to work independently, and is organized and has basic computer skills. The position begins May 7, 2024 and ends on August 20, 2024.

Duties:

  • Cataloguing artifacts
  • Helping to create new museum exhibits
  • Re-organizing exhibits
  • Historical research
  • Accessioning/deaccessioning artifacts
  • General museum tasks and maintenance

*training for above duties is provided

Requirements:

– Must be between the age of 16 and 30
– Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
– Written and verbal communication skills
– The ability to work well in a team environment
– Research experience preferred
