25 July: The Permaculture Experience — developing hugelkultur beds by Carolanne Rauschenberger

In this lecture, Carolanne Rauschenberger will talk about Permaculture which is a type of sustainable agriculture which emphasizes the harmonious interrelationship of humans, plants, animals and the Earth. She will also talk about Hugelkultur (HOO-gul-culture) which is a gardening and farming technique whereby one creates mounded garden beds with biomass such as logs, leaves, compost and soil. Carolanne and Gunther (her husband) have been farming for 30 years. They originally started working in agriculture, but they now practice permaculture..
