Canada Day Celebrations

Celebrate the country’s birthday and the 12,000+ years First Nations people have lived in the Skeena region with First Nations dancing, First Nations carvers, a salmon barbecue, multicultural food vendors, all-day live music, artists in residence, children’s games, a silent auction, blacksmithing, cultural demonstrations, ‘birthday’ cupcakes, and more!

Rain or shine. Admission free or by donation. Funded in part by the Government of Canada.

 

Canada Day Music Stage Schedule

11:00 a.m.: Welcome to the territory by Sharon Bryant, Kitsumkalum matriarch

11:05 a.m.: Gitlaxdax Nisga’a Dancers

12:00 noon: ‘Birthday’ cupcakes and singing of O Canada by Sophia Zanardo

12:15-1:00 p.m.: Steve Little (rock)

1:00-3:00 p.m.: Coastal Drifters (rock)

3:15 p.m.-4:00 p.m.: Noel Lenaghan (fiddle music)

 

All-day Events:

11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Horse Rides (with the Northwest Therapeutic Equestrian Association)

11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: Artists in Residence
