The Terrace & District Museum Society
The Terrace & District Museum Society was incorporated on September 24, 2003 under the British Columbia Society Act. The purpose of the society is to:
- Maintain and operate the premises, facilities and archives of the Heritage Park Museum;
- Preserve and conserve the historical buildings and artifacts of the museum;
- Obtain and preserve historical and heritage artifacts pertaining to the Terrace region;
- Raise money for the furtherance of its purpose by contributions, donations, fees and grants;
- Promote the museum and suitable activities to the public.

The Terrace and District Museum Society is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of Terrace, British Columbia’s history and is committed to making Heritage Park Museum a community gathering place devoted to artifact care and historical interpretation.
Since its inception the society has completed numerous projects including:
- Creation of a new logo and site sign
- A new wooden fence which surrounds the property
- New roofs for the eight historical buildings
- An office upgrade
- 12 interpretive signs on the grounds
- Wheel chair access ramps to the eight historic buildings
- Building a replica school house
